RAINIER RELIABILITY

Have you ever seen Mt. Rainier? It’s pretty neat, and while this Rainier isn’t quite as majestic, it’s pretty neat too. The Rainier 27.2 Dropper Post is the skinnier tubed version of our acclaimed Rainier post. Built around the motto, “set it and forget it”, these posts are known for their unwavering reliability, while giving you an answer to safely descend steep terrain or techy sections.

WEATHERPROOF SEALED AIR CARTRIDGE

Like all of our droppers, the Rainier 27.2 rocks a sealed air cartridge that is known for its performance in below freezing temperatures. This design also makes the post easy to self service when it comes time for maintenance.

skinny tubes get weird too

With multiple lever mounting combinations, the Rainier 27.2 is just as at home on a skinny tubed cross country bike as it is on a cyclocross or drop bar bike.

Twist Stop technology

Like a good pair of braces to keep your teeth straight, our Rainier utilizes a brass key system to keep the stanchion from twisting or developing play over time. We machine precision tracks on the inside of the post tube allowing these brass keys to slide up and down. The beauty of this system is it’s effective, simple and ensures the post is easy to service when it comes time to do so.

How Does Travel Adjust work?

Our travel adjust system allows for a total of 30mm travel reduction in 5mm increments. If you were riding that line between travel sizes you can now fine-tune the perfect fit by following the easy directions below:

  1. Begin by lowering your dropper at or below the desired travel length (just make sure it’s not fully extended!)
  2. Unthread the midcap with your hand and slide it up to reveal the white DU Bushing.
  3. You’ll see negative numbers with corresponding notches machined into the post (each # represents decreasing travel.
  4. Slide the DU bushing up and rotate it to align the black arrow with the amount of travel you would like to reduce, then seat the arrow into the machined groove. (Make sure it’s fit securely into these notches!)
  5. After pushing the DU Bushing back down, lower the midcap and hand tighten (no need to go overboard!) and ride off into the sunset with the perfect travel for you.

FAQ

Is this post compatible with my bike?

The Rainier is for bikes with 27.2mm seat tube diameters and internal routing, to find out how to diagnose the best dropper for your bike click here >>>

Does the post come w/ internal cable & housing?

We include our cable and housing kits with each of our levers. When you order the dropper by itself cable and housing will not be included.

How often do I need to service the post?

As riding frequency and conditions vary, we do not have a strict service interval. Instead, we recommend servicing your post if it starts to feel sticky/slows down. When it does come down to service it is a quick and easy, at home process.

What’s the difference between the Rainier 27.2 and the Pine Dropper Post?

Both posts are for 27.2mm seat tubes but the Rainier 27.2 only accommodates frames with internal cable routing capabilities, while the Pine has external cable routing.
